The Support to Regulatory Activities for Carbon Capture and Storage (STRACO2) - Project is designed to support the development of a regulatory framework for CCS in the European Union. By supporting a CCS regulatory framework inside the EU, STRACO2 will be instrumental for establishing best practice standards globally.

By incorporating the Administrative Centre for China’s Agenda 21 (ACCA21) the Project is part of the EU-China partnership on Climate Change and ensures that the developed solutions are applicable to rapidly developing economies outside Europe which will be crucial in fighting CO2 emissions and climate change. The programme started in January 2008 and will run for 18 months.
